Staff Assembly Scholarship Program

With the goal of enriching the personal and professional lives of UC Riverside staff, Staff Assembly offers scholarships that can be used to help offset the costs of a higher education degree or professional development programs.

Recipients of the scholarships are selected by the Staff Scholarship Subcommittee on a quarterly basis.

There are two types of scholarships:

  • Degree Attainment Scholarships
    Limited to $150, these scholarships can be used to offset the costs of tuition and books for individuals pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree while working at UCR.
  • Professional Development Scholarships
    Limited to $100, these scholarships can be used to offset the costs of professional development programs such as conferences, continuing education classes, and webinars.

Scholarships are available to all career staff employees who have completed their probation period and are limited to a maximum of $250 per employee per academic year, between Sept. 1 and August 31. There is a limit of one application per scholarship type, per person, per academic year.

Awards are reimbursements of documented expenses. Recipients are required to provide a copy of receipts, transcripts, etc.

How to Apply

To apply for a Staff Assembly scholarship, fill out our online application or download and print our paper form, fill it out and submit it by campus mail.

Applications are accepted on a quarterly basis.

  • Fall quarter and winter break (September 1, 2014 – December 31, 2014)
  • Winter quarter and spring break (January 1,2015 – March 31, 2015)
  • Spring quarter and summer (April 1, 2015 – August 31, 2015)

Application must be received no later than the Friday of the of the first week of each quarter:

  • Fall 2014: October 3, 2014
  • Winter 2015: January 9, 2015
  • Spring/Summer 2015: March 27, 2015
