Committee Volunteer Opportunities
The Staff Assembly Executive Board invites you to volunteer for any of the standing committees that interest you. These committees are responsible for the beneficial programs that promote the interests and well-being of our career staff employees.
- Social: Assists the Director of Events with planning various social events throughout the year. These events can be large events like the Staff Carnival or small events like staff gatherings before UCR basketball games.
- Scholarships: Assists in the selection of scholarship recipients.
- Staff Recognition: Plans and coordinates the annual Staff Recognition Ceremony and the selection of Staff Excellence awards. This committee also selects the monthly winner of the Get Recognized peer recognition program.
- Professional Development: Coordinates the quarterly scholarship distribution process, including application, selection, and awarding of funds.
- Marketing and Communications: Helps create all marketing materials for Staff Assembly events and programs.
- Outreach: Assists the Outreach Chair in creating ways to connect with departments that cannot take part in regularly scheduled Staff Assembly events.
- Fundraising: Assists the Director of Fundraising with planning and coordinating fundraising activities to fund Staff Enrichment Scholarships and the general Staff Assembly operating budget.
- Elections: Coordinates the annual election of Staff Assembly Executive Board members. The Staff Assembly election occurs each spring.
- General Volunteer: General volunteers are not members of specific committees but are contacted throughout the year for various volunteering opportunities.
Event Volunteer Opportunities
The UCR Staff Assembly seeks volunteers for a variety of events throughout the year, including:
- Community Partner Fair (Fall)
- General Meetings (Fall, Winter, Spring)
- Staff Pantry (Fall, Winter, Spring)
- Chancellor's Picnic (Fall)
- Holiday Celebration (Fall)
- Staff Conference (Winter)
- Thank Goodness for Staff Week (Spring)
