Staff Assembly Scholarship Program Overview

Staff Assembly offers scholarships that can be used to help offset the costs of professional development programs or higher education degrees.

Scholarships are available to career staff employees who have completed their probation period and are limited to a maximum of $250 per employee per academic year, between September 1 and August 31. There is a limit of one application per scholarship type, per person, per academic year.

Awards are reimbursements of documented expenses. Recipients are required to provide a copy of receipts, transcripts, etc. 

Receipts MUST indicate personal payment with cash, check, or credit card to be valid. Loans and/or grants are not reimbursable.

Recipients of the scholarships are selected by the Staff Scholarship Subcommittee on a quarterly basis.

There are two types of scholarships: Professional Development and Degree Attainment. 

Professional Development

These scholarships can be used to offset the costs of professional development programs such as conferences, continuing education classes, and webinars.

Degree Attainment

These scholarships can be used to offset the costs incurred for individuals pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree while working at UCR (i.e., tuition, books, supplies, etc.).
